Love and joy and beauty should permeate the surroundings of the growing child.
– Rudolf Steiner
Established in 2004, the Inner West Steiner Playgroup invites families on a journey through the seasons of the year. We share stories, songs, simple natural toys and delicious food together, nourishing the imagination and building a bridge from the circle of family life to the wider realm of the social life.
The rhythm of free, active play and quiet/guided activities is carefully balanced to create a joyous and reliable environment that is both enriching and nurturing for the young child.
The aim of our playgroup is to develop a sanctuary of play, and an oasis of peace and friendship for families. We welcome families of all backgrounds, all abilities, and all compositions.
We acknowledge the Cadigal and Wangal people, the traditional owners of the country where our playgroup meets, and recognise their long and continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay respect to the Elders, present, past and emerging, and the many generations of families who have cared for this country from time immemorial.
